IN PROCESS // reflections from rabun gap: poems & drawings is a series of works made during a creative residency fellowship award at hambidge center for the arts and sciences (ga) in the spring of 2025. it took shape through a self made ritual on each full day in residence: write a 10-line poem and sketch a simple line drawing, both by freehand with sharpie on paper, to explore how to use only the most essential words and marks to convey complex observations; to prompt out of perfectionism and the constant instinct to erase/revise; and to generate a new and complete project within the fellowship dates (and in addition to the projects i went there to focus on). the resulting piece comprises 30 works — 15 poems and 15 drawings — which will be turned into a chapbook and shared here as soon as it’s finished.
